Castor oil
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil
A thick seed oil that gives Sea Witch its slip and cushioned feel.
- Origin
- PlantOil from the seeds of the castor plant, Ricinus communis.
- Also called
- Ricinus communis seed oil
What it is
Oil from the seeds of the castor plant. It is unusually thick because it is made mostly of one fatty acid, ricinoleic acid.
What it does
Its thickness gives a cleanser slip, so it glides over skin. Like the other oils in Sea Witch, it helps loosen oily grime so it rinses away, and it softens skin.
Why it’s clean
A single plant oil, named on the list by its botanical name. It gives slip without silicones; Sea Witch lists none.
