What it is
Shiitake is a mushroom with a brown, umbrella-shaped cap that grows on hardwood. The list names its species as Lentinus edodes, also known as Lentinula edodes.
What it does
It is one of the 25 mushrooms in Shroom Therapy. Shiitake is one of the richest natural sources of ergothioneine, an antioxidant. Like all mushrooms, it contains beta-glucans, sugars that hold water, which add to the mask's soft feel.
Why it’s clean
Named on the list with its species, Lentinus edodes, and marked organic. One clearly named ingredient, not a blend name.
