What it is
Water is the first ingredient in Sea Witch, Solar Plexus, Remember When and Avalon. Lists write it as Water (Aqua) or Aqua (Water), which mean the same thing.
What it does
It dissolves and carries the water-loving ingredients, such as glycerin, aloe and the plant extracts, and lets a formula spread across skin. In a cream it is half of the emulsion.
Why it’s clean
The simplest ingredient there is. Water-based products need protection from spoilage; Sea Witch, Solar Plexus and Avalon list ferment ingredients of the kind used for that.
